Hey guys, you may remember at the beginning of the history of this blog I interviewed Karime on a few of her travel tips and tricks. Well in today’s Travel Thursday post she shares her trip to Stockholm with us.
It wasn’t Karime’s first time to Stockholm and certainly not her last! In fact this was her 3rd time to the Swedish city and all those trips have been in either Autumn or Spring, Karime says “I must do summer soon as I would like to see the islands, I think every season brings out something different about the city and every time is beautiful” Are you sold yet …..? If not read on! The one thing that Karime always appreciates in Stockholm is the Scandinavian and Swedish fashion and style. Below she share her Must-see’s, what to eat and where to shop:
Must See’s: Of course with the seasons in Scandinavia the light is so different but Karime has tips for all times of the year with her must see list: Firstly, enjoy the beautiful scenery in and around Stockholm by just strolling around. Take a boat trip to one of the Islands, then you can enjoy the view to the lake side houses and nature, step-off the boat to enjoy a drink, sit back and relax. In the city walk around Djurgården Karime says “This part of the city is gorgeous, you can also see some Swedish Architecture with beautiful Villa’s around the lake”.
Eating: Karime suggest starting your day with some breakfast at Bakverket at Bondegaten 59 but get there before 10 otherwise the place is full with Stockholm’s hipsters. Try High Tea in Stockholm at Svenkst Tenn which is located in Osterhalm, Stockholm’s posh side! While your waiting for your table take a look around the beautiful shop for some Swedish design items. For dinner head to AG a French/Swedish restaurant with tasty steak and Karime says ” try the Swedish roe to start as its delicious. For a low-key but still delicious dinner Karime found some tasty home food in La Neta Mexican restaurant.
What Karime discovered on this trip was the fantastic store at Svenkst Tenn, she said ” It was like step into a page of Architectural Digest and seeing all my favourite furniture pieces, I wanted everything. Swedish bold prints and delicate pieces of furniture, stylish but chic”. For me I think that sentence sums up Swedish style and also is why I love Scandinavian style.
For all you shopping fans out there head to Filipa K, ACNE, Design Torget and pop in and out of boutiques around Drottninggatan and Kunsgaten where you can also find great little places to eat.
Have you been to Stockholm? Leave tips in the comments!
Ciao for Now xx
