Everything is Black and White

bwThe weather is for sure getting grey and so, I am loving that the fall/winter collections are not all dark colours. Whilst White is still a neutral colour I some how feel it has that bit of something that adds an usual break from the normal dark fall wardrobes. I have put together some of our favourite white and black items in my wardrobe both old and new. Every season I like to add additions to my wardrobe and I am not a trend type person when I m shopping. I look at the fabrics, quality and for items I believe will be with me for a while so I can mix and match everything. I also like to mix up my brands and try to add my slightly more expensive pieces with my bargain finds.

From Left to Right: White, lace Jumper: Sandro, Black Lace skirt: Forever 21, Leggings: Trunk V, White Sequin Top: Topshop, Black faux leather skirt: ASOS, Faux Fur Jacket HM Paris Collection.

Boots: Ankle Boots: ACNE, Over the Knee: HM Paris Collection

Can’t wait to show you how I style all of these items in the coming months.

What kind of things have you been buying for the coming season? I ll show you mine if you show me yours ūüėČ

Alexander-Wang-Spring-2014-Handbags-2LFW has started and I have finally got round to finding all my favourite looks from NYFW which I will share with you over the weekend. First, some arm candy from my favourite show; Alexander Wang. I loved the entire collection I feel like I m constantly a stuck record as I just keep going on about it but, I just was and am infatuated.

The soft pastels reminded me of childhood summers and cotton candy and so since I am now at the age I have to look after my teeth I will happily swap cotton candy for Arm Candy in the form of this gorgeous Alexander Wang clutch. I think it will look perfect with a sherbet colour outfit or all white.

Happy Friday all and have an awesome evening xx

P.S I also loved all the branding and details at Alexander Wang show.

Mood Monday #6 Jackets

As I post this I feel it maybe a little premature but, one of the best things about blogging is that I can spend endless hours on the web ‘window shopping’ and say its work! This weekend I was surfing the web and was drooling over jackets on offer for fall. This time of year is always difficult and I love the pre-fall collections but sometimes they just don’t hit the mark either. Now, I must say its still sunny outside here in Amsterdam but, my Arab blood means I am usually colder than my friends here and unlike some women my fetish is not shoes but jackets! I have lots of them and love them. I have always worked in a corporate environment and so a jacket is perfect to make your work outfit look super smart and for me also an essentil when traveling as planes are freezing!

I am loving the three above which I saw on Matches.com. Left to Right: Camouflage jacket by Christopher Kane, The perfect casual jacket: Stella McCartney, Smart Casual Jacket by A.L.C

Which one of these jackets would you want?

Stars and Graffiti

Here is my last look from London, after trawling Columbia Road and Shoreditch you can read all about that here. I took some photos with some of the street art in the area wearing my new favourite jeans. I am having a bit of a love affair with nude and blush colours at the moment and when I saw these jeans in Harvey Nichols Dubai I had to have them. The star vest is a new purchase from J Crew on my recent trip to West Coast US. You can read all about my stay in LA and road trip north on the blog and catch up with my recent travels to London too.

What I Wore: Earrings: Ralph Lauren, Top: Black vest from HM Nederland and Star T-shirt J Crew, Jeans: Paige Denim, Bag: Zara, Sandals: Bazaar Istanbul, Sunglasses: Versace

Have you got your summer travel plans sorted yet?

DSC_0783DSC_0809DSC_0805DSC_0794DSC_0803DSC_0798DSC_0784DSC_0793DSC_0796DSC_0797Hey All, Today is my final post from my trip to London earlier this summer. I enjoy strolling around London and being inspired by all the different inhabitants of London, as well as the visitors. One sunny Sunday I decided to go on an all-day trip to East London where I have already posted about the first half of that day here, where I visited Columbia Road. The pictures above are all from Brick Lane and the shops around there. The best thing about Brick Lane is the street market atmosphere and the coffee and bagel shops that are neighbourhood institutions. On the other hand for Vintage shopping there is no where in London that is as good.

I hope the photos above give you a good picture of what’s on offer around Brick Lane the pictures were taken in Beyond Retro which has shops in both London and Sweden and arguably the best selection of Vintage clothes. The other pictures are from my other favourite store Blitz which touts itself as a Vintage Department Store, and I must say its hard to argue that, whether your looking for key vintage pieces, inspiration or vinyl and after all that shopping you can grab a coffee too ….. whats more perfect. I also recommend Absolute Vintage too as they have the best selection of Shoes and Handbags. London has an abundance of Vintage stores but I can’t recommend enough the Brick Lane area and you must visit my favourite stores. I hope this has inspired you to visit the East and take a walk on the East Side

If you have any tips leave them in the comments below for other readers.

Yado’z Favourites

Yado’z means grandma in Emariti Arabic and yesterday I introduced you to Mohammed Harib the creative genius behind the UAE’s favourite grandma’s from the TV show Freej. As I explained yesterday, Mohammed see’s Freej as a brand and Yado’z are the products that were once our Grandma’s favourites but, reproduced for the modern day. I loved the products especially for the fact that they were made in the UAE, yet I could see how they would work in Holland for example. Yado’z produces different Emariti inspired items that also support and give back to the community.

The cushions are perfect for indoor and outdoor use and I love that they have the Arabic calligraphy on them in neon colours. Imagine your white or black garden furniture with a gorgeous Middle Eastern cushion …. coming to a garden or balcony near you soon!

The Smart trays with the intricate details are just gorgeous for home and have been carefully designed for the Bookiyas so you no longer have to worry about spilling your coffee pot all over your poor guests because this tray holds everything in place, and if your like me I would use the Bookiyas for sugar and spices!

The T-shirts were designed for charity to help people who need wheelchairs. All the t-shirts have been designed with the UAE culture in mind but given a modern twist …. I love the super man t-shirt with the Burqa hidden in the logo.

But, now my absolute favourite thing about the Yadoz products is that they all go so well together, the t-shirts can be packaged in the Bookiya. The bookiya can be held in place in the simple coffee trays and can be used for so many other organisational needs. The cushions can be stored in the ottoman boxes that can also be used for indoor and outdoor use.¬†Yado’z produces different Emariti inspired items that also support and give back to the community. If your looking for the perfect gifts for people from the UAE that are different from the usual tourist gifts then look no further than Yado’z.

To find out more about Yado’z follow them on facebook and twitter.

What would you choose to put in your bookiya?

Sunny day in London

Hey Guys, As I hit the publish button I am running late to Heathrow and having to leave London again for a few days stop over in Amsterdam. I couldn’t have asked for better weather for my return from my California trip to London. Since the weather was good I made sure that my weekend was going to be packed. Here is a post to show you what I wore for my day out on Saturday to Dover Street Market which you can read about here. After being in doors at LDSM, I headed to Hyde Park and the Serpentine gallery for some much needed Pimms’O’Clock action and a delicious pizza sitting by the lake and basking in the evening sun. I loved the park but, I must say Hayfever has been killing me along with the jet lag, but I suffered through in the park to get as much green open space before I head back to the desert.

I wore my new Topshop backpack out this weekend, what do you think? I am not a big backpack fan but I loved the colour of this one and needed something bigger than my usual clutches for my notebook and camera (blogging essentials). I also have finally got the chance to wear my new favourite Sandro leopard print top that I bought on a recent shopping spree at De Bijenkorf over my birthday weekend in Amsterdam. I loved that the leopard print is in perfect pastel colours for summer.

What I wore: Top: Sandro, Necklace: Topshop, Jeans: American Apparel, Bag: Topshop, Shoes, Zara, Sunglasses: Rayban’s¬†

Couldn’t have had a better Saturday.

Do you like to spend your sunny days in the park?
