Trending Tuesday #12 Kids at NYFW

tumblr_msssdrPd4u1rqmldyo1_500WAN_1819.450x675Hey loves, NYFW has been in full swing for the last couple of days now and whilst the designers are competing for the best critiques and street-style pictures are now as important as the models looks from the catwalks, it seems there is also a new trend in town …….. super dressed kids. Ok, I think we can all agree there is no way Aila Wang would not be on best dressed list but, a look that is directly from SS14 how cooler could she be? I also love how she is also sporting a Balenciaga bag ….. how supportive of her Uncle’s work!  Of course, as I already blogged about the other day at Victoria Beckham all eyes were on Sir David Beckham and little Harper even caught the eye of the fashion queen herself…. click here to find out who I m talking about!

I love nearly everything Mr. Wang creates although, I am still a little skeptical on his Balenciaga work however, I have no doubt that SS 14 in Paris will wow me. I am such a fan that the other day I was out for dinner with a girlfriend here in Amsterdam and she was discussing with me that she wanted to buy a new handbag and was thinking of going designer and I said “definitely Alexander Wang”. No hesitation in that recommendation”

Alexander Wang is right to put a Parental Advisory notice on his clothes, I need my parents to make sure my credit card doesn’t burn up when his SS 14 line goes on sale ….. I LOVED EVERYTHING!

What do you think of the little fashionista’s at NYFW …… I think they are adorable.

Ciao for Now xx

Polka Dots

I posted all about Princess Catherine (Kate) and Princess Diana wearing Polka Dots when leaving the hospital with their new born Prince’s. So, inspired by them but, with an injection of my own style I put together this simple look for a day of sight seeing.  I found these shorts while I was in the US recently and loved that they were a slightly longer length giving them a more classic look.

Do you like to wear Polka Dots?

Trending Tuesday #7 Baby George

ImageDSC_0743Britain Royal Baby

Baby George is now 1 week old and ironically yesterday would have been Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s 32nd Wedding Anniversary. Well aside, from Baby George being a King in waiting I had to make a post to discuss the outfit Kate choose to wear. I could hear the world all aaaaaahhhhhh’ing at the first sighting of HRH Prince George but, it was the way new Mum Kate stepped out into a sea of flashing photographers in a gorgeous blue Polka Dot dress looking calm, cool and collected i.e fabulous that caught my eye! I had only been discussing moments earlier that events like this for the Royal Family are so pre-rehersed for safety reasons, suddenly I spotted that Princess Diana had also worn Polka Dots when she left the hospital with Prince William how every surprising. Well, I think they both looked great and I have recently been thinking how feminine and lady like Polka Dots look, if they are good enough for Princesses they are definitely good enough for us commoner’s.

Did you like Kate’s dress?

Columbia Road

Hey Guys, sorry the blog has been quiet the last few days but, sadly I had to experience every bloggers biggest nightmare a computer meltdown! After spending many hours with a very helpful technician yesterday I’m back up and running. Well, on a happier note last Sunday the sun was shining in London and I decided to head over to East London and spend the day wondering Columbia road, Shoreditch and Brick Lane. The pictures I have shared with you are meant to give you an impression of the area and some cool things to see in the neighbourhood.

Head to Columbia Road on a Sunday for the flower market, I love fresh flowers and when I am home in Amsterdam I always liked to buy flowers for my house I think its a luxury that in Dubai we miss out on because of the crazy prices for imported flowers. Once you have your flowers or herbs (yes you can get those here too) then pop in and out of shops. I highly recommend visiting Suck and Chew for all your favourite childhood sweets. The decoration of the shop is also a a real treat for the eyes so all-in-all a must visit.  After the sweet shop then head to Ryantown, the cutest paper card shop I have seen in a long time. Gorgeous cards with beautiful messages in lovely colours.

All over East London you can see Street Art and I have shared a few of my favourites that I spotted on my walk. There were also others I liked too but there were so many people walking around, enjoying the weather that it was hard to take pictures. Which ones do you like?

Today I have already shared where to start your Sunday off to a good start at Salvation Jane. So, as you may have guessed already, this was a great sunday for me.

How do you like to spend your weekends? I love brunch with friends and need to find more good brunch places in Amsterdam.

Ciao for now

Monday Mood

I adore this summer jacket from By Malene Birger. The anchor print makes me think of sunny shores and I am an addict of blue. As I told you in my birthday post I have lots of trips coming up this month so I m in holiday mode and I think this is the perfect jacket for jeans coordinates or over the top of an all white outfit.

I love the silhouette  this jacket creates on the shoulders and the nipped in waist. Makes you have a very feminine look.

What I wore: Jacket: By Malene Birger. Top: Massimo Dutti, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: French Connection

What item in your wardrobe makes you think of holiday!

Wearing Abaya

Last week I introduced you to Huda from Malaak Angelology and I wanted to show you how to wear the Abaya and Turban; so below you’ll see how you can style an Abaya as an evening gown. This Abaya was the best tailored gown I had worn for a very long time. It was perfectly nipped in at the waist, dropped nicely around the neck and shoulders and made me feel very Feminine. The gold sequins turban was just the icing on the cake for me to feel like a 1950’s movie star!

Malaak is a designer brand that is over the top with attention to detail, and this is what makes Malaak the success it is today and designer Huda does not compromise on the quality at all “they get really annoyed with me in here when I keep telling them to re-pick and cut the patterns again, open up the stitching and do it again”. As you can see from the gorgeous gown above and below the bead work is magnificent and makes the dress.

As soon as I have a need to wear either of these garments Malaak will be getting a visit from me. I just loved them and the way they made me feel with the amazing fabrics and uber femininity.

Do you like to feel feminine and how often does that happen?

Ciao for now xx

P.S connect with Malaak here and here!
